our story
Justin Davanzo, founder and owner of The Ruff Ranch, has been working with dogs and their owners for more than a decade. His experience began as lead trainer and business owner of a prior successful dog training business and evolved into the expansion and rebranding of The Ruff Ranch in January 2020.
Justin recognizes that it is primarily a lack of socialization that contributes to many of the dog behaviors his clients seek to improve. With this in mind, training at The Ruff Ranch goes beyond traditional obedience training, incorporating socialization into the process. Our goal at the Ranch is help dogs become more confident and comfortable, whatever their environment, and therefore inclined to make better choices.
The Ruff Ranch offers dog training, overnight boarding, and day care. Additionally, transportation to and from the Santa Barbara area is offered Monday through Friday.
We hold a kennel permit from Santa Barbara County and are fully bonded and insured.
